This has to be one of my most memorable days with my camera.

Going back to 2015, I had a voucher from my parents to ride along in a drift car with the Australian Drift Club. Sounds like fun right? It was my first time in a drift car so to say I was stoked would be an understatement.

I captured a few shots of the action while I waited for my turn which of course heightened the excitement.

Even though I didn’t drive, I still got more than I bargained for.

I rode in the S13 above and it was an epic tyre smoking ride. I was constantly turning side to side to see where we were going and find the tandem car we were drifting with.

The ride was fairly consistent until the sudden end.

A miscalculated turn, the front driver went very wide, swung back in and boom! The passenger door copped the impact. It wasn’t a major hit but did cause some damage and ended the run. Unfortunately that’s motorsport. I hope by now it’s all fixed and running again.

See the wild run below.

Oh and whats more, when I left I heard the glorious sounds of classics, tearing up Sydney Motorsport Park. Naturally, I had to go see what it was all about and was greeting with the Retro Speed Fest. Stay tuned for that feature story!

Thanks for stopping by!
