At the time of writing this, I find feature photoshoots so rewarding. The shot I have planned in my head never ends up being the hero. It’s always something else. That’s what I love about photography. You can plan all you want but there’s always more that opens up when you’re being creative.

I try to include light painting wherever I can. I never really how it’s going to come out but I know it’ll be creative and I’ll learn something and that is the most rewarding thing of all.

This photoshoot came from going to a meet up organised by my mate Tarkan. Check out the meetup video here. It’s where I met Matt, the owner of this cool E21. I love how low it sits.

As I was keen to use some locations, I hit Matt up and organised a photoshoot including some light painting. Check out the video below

Once the golden hues disappeared it was time to move on and shoot some long exposure by the water.

As you can see, the street lighting just wasn’t cutting it. The shadows cast by the trees was amateur so out came the light wand.

After making a proper mess with light trails, I was able to pick three exposures that I was happy with and create the image above. Not gonna lie, I’m pretty chuffed with it.

Next up was shooting in the darkest spot I’ve ever photographed. I found this spot using Google street view many years ago and surprisingly the building was still there. This was probably our favourite part of the photoshoot as we had no idea how the shots would turn out. Unlike the location by the water, we were able to get the photographs with only a few passes of the light wand.

The first image below shows all the layers together followed by the end results. So rewarding.

Having driven past the lit trees earlier in the afternoon, we decided to go back and see what shots we could get. I’ve been wanting to photograph here for a long time. I thought capturing bokeh was easy but I’ll have to come back.

It was a pleasant surprise for the owner of the Supra, Alanah to drive by. She was looking to take some shots of her own but I couldn’t help myself and had to get one for myself.

All in all, it was an awesome day & night shooting an awesome car. If you like what you see, click here to watch the video. If you would like a photoshoot for your own ride, please do send a message.

Thanks for stopping by.
