Drag racing has always appealed to me. All the elements of performance, aero, sound and stance IMO create the toughest version of any car there is. Even the safety elements scream “back the f**k up!”

A quarter mile run of 10 seconds in the 90’s was phenomenal. Now days we’re seeing family wagons do it and that’s not talking about the top dogs who are 4-5 seconds under that! In-fu**ing-sane! In a few years time, getting booted from the track without a rollcage is going to become the norm.

The event I’m talking about here is Grudge Kings, the baddest grudge racing event in Australia. Where beating your opponent by a social distance was the main game before it was cool.

If you haven’t been, do yourself a favour and come to the next event. You can check out a preview on the Grudge Kings Youtube channel or visit Fullboost for some footage and see for yourself.

Grudge Kings have nine racing classes which is more than enough for a full day of racing.

With a top prize of $50k, there’s no shortage of top notch racing

As the night rolled in, the final came down between Jeremy ‘Jet” Martin in his 4000hp 526ci twin-turbo VB Commodore and Bruno Matijasevic in his 521ci blown HG Premiere. Standing metres away from these guys at full noise was a hell of an experience. It felt like my rib cage was running a blown big block too.

When both cars staged, the tension was up, teams were in full support and in the thinest of margins, Boris jumped the light disqualifying him. Jeremy ‘Jet’ Martin, owner of Australia’s fastest Commodore had won. All that hard work had paid off! Sure, it would’ve been great to have seen both drivers take off on green but that’s racing and winning is winning!
